Acupuncture is a versatile treatment that can be used alone or alongside other therapies to address various health conditions.
For example, it helps manage joint pain and inflammation in degenerative diseases, relieves muscle tension related to anxiety, promotes sleep for those with insomnia, balances hormones to improve fertility, and stimulates natural painkillers for migraines.
Additionally, it can alleviate sinus congestion, improve skin appearance by boosting circulation and collagen, and help reduce high blood pressure.

Acupuncture goes to the root of the energetic Qi imbalance (stagnation, depletion, blockage) that created physical problems in the first place. Once the underlying issue is resolved, the body will heal naturally.
Many people turn to acupuncture and TCM after Western medical treatments (prescription drugs or surgery) have failed to resolve their concerns or created unwanted side effects.

Acupuncture needles are the size of a cat's whisker. You may feel a very short sting, pinch or ache as they are inserted. Some places on the body are more or less sensitive. Needle location is determined based on the treatment needed and patient sensitivity.
Once the needle has been placed, you may feel a tingling or movement of Qi. The feeling will subside and the result can be enjoyable and relaxing. Often people fall asleep once needles are placed.
-
Of course! Acupuncture is known to promote relaxation and balance in the body’s energy, which can significantly help alleviate stress, anxiety, and related emotional challenges.

Don't be nervous :)
Before we start the acupuncture treatment, we will have a consultation to discuss your health goals and then design a treatment plan.
-
We always recommend being hydrated and eating something light prior to your arrival for treatment. We also recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy adjustment for accessing the necessary parts of your body during the treatment.
And if you are a new patient, please fill out the new patient form online patient portal, or please arrive 15 minutes earlier than your scheduled appointment, so that you have enough time to fill out the paperwork.
-
A healing timeline depends on the patient and their lifestyle, but every patient should see immediate improvement after the first treatment.
Some conditions can be resolved in 1-3 treatments. Ongoing treatments are helpful to maintain optimal health or if symptoms return.
For long-standing or chronic conditions, an on-going treatment series over several months may be needed.
Fertility and reproductive health issues also require recurring treatments to align the reproductive cycle.
The total number of sessions depends on the condition and its severity. A practitioner usually recommends 6 to 8 treatments.
